About - Johnpaul Nwobodo

Hey there!

So you're here!😀 It's not really my style to write about myself. I believe that's for journalists covering stories related to me or the companies I work with or perhaps for my biographer... just kidding.

Without bragging too much, I'm just a young dude from Nigeria, figuring out life one step at a time. I'm entrepreneurial to the core!

I founded my first company, Cresthub, a media company that covers hidden startups and entrepreneurs in Nigeria, and published Cresthub Magazine - the startup magazine - at 19. I did a lot in the graphics/publishing sector with Cresthub Creative, the graphic arm of Cresthub. My entrepreneurial journey has been riddled with successes and failures. I have also co-founded companies in different sectors, including Agronob, an agricultural sector company connecting farmers to buyers that never took off, and Shoes&Bags, which was supposed to be the Zappos of Africa, but also failed.

My current entrepreneurial adventure is in the alternative finance space. Together with my friends, we are building a hybrid reward-based crowdfunding platform for entrepreneurs, creatives, and startup founders in Africa called Elesaro. If it takes off, Elesaro will be the platform upon which businesses will be launched in Africa.

My other current adventure is in the food space. Yes, I am a foodie, and I am shameless about it. Together with my team, we are building Trofira, a platform that enables you to order food from your favorite food vendors or restaurants within seconds. I have always wanted to do something like this. I can’t wait to see where we take this company.

In terms of programming, I am a master of front-end development (HTML, CSS, Vanilla JS, React JS). I have a strong knack for design and aesthetics, and my code stacks use the MERN Stack. I am in love with Figma and Adobe XD too.

When it comes to business, operations, and development are things I excel at. I like to define myself as a visionary who walks his talk by getting his hands dirty.

My dad sent me to medical school to study Medical Physiology with an option to further in MBBS, but I came out as an entrepreneur and a programmer. I'm not a dropout, but I could have been one because I wasted so many precious years in that environment. Good thing I'm out of the box.

Topics that interest me include entrepreneurship, business, finance, startups, blockchain and cryptocurrency (as an apostle of Satoshi, I love DeFi), anime (my favorite is Attack on Titan, and I think it's classy, while Naruto is the GOAT anime), art, and poetry. I also love coffee - to be specific, cappuccino.

One awkward thing about me is that I rap - only inside my room, though.🤣
